Letters To Santa And The Christmas Count Down

Each year my kids and I spend time together writing letters to Santa and making a calendar to count down until Christmas day. We’ve always enjoyed writing Santa letters and we have been creating the Christmas Count Down Calendars for the past four or five years.

We write our calendar on a large white poster board. Around the edges we make a frame in ribbon and glitter. The dividing lines on the calendar are made of Christmas candy sprinkles.

We mark special days during the holidays on the calendar. Every year we mark a day for writing letters to Santa. We make a mini envelope to glue to that day’s place on the calendar. On the envelope my daughter likes to draw a picture of snowmen. She fills in the space around the envelope with red glitter.

The day after letter writing is our mail your Christmas letters day. For this day we place a couple of stamps on the poster board. This year this drew up a clever little map of the trip from our house to the North Pole.

We mark a day for wrapping all the gifts we will be delivering to friends and family. On this day we put a stick on gift tag. Another event we mark is filling and sending out our Christmas cards.

We also mark a day for mixing up our magical reindeer food. That day is covered in gold glitter with a reindeer picture glued on top. This is one of kid’s favorite activities that we do for Christmas.

We have a day for baking cookies together. On the square for this day we glue on sprinkles and mini gingerbread men. We make the gingerbread men out of thin craft foam.

The day that we put up the Christmas lights has a green Christmas light bulb stuck to it. The light bulbs are made of candy cellophane. One year we glued on the lights from a burnt out string we was going to throw away.

We always mark the special day when the letters from Santa arrive. How this day gets noted varies from year to year. Last year we used a gold stick on star.

Of course Christmas Eve is marked with a picture of the real Santa. Christmas is marked with a big shiny present to represent a gift from Santa Claus. You could use any Christmas image that you have around.

To mark off a day we glue cotton balls over it. You can glue whatever you have around the house maybe strips of ribbon or tissue paper to mark off your days. I have the kids rotate turns to be the one to get to mark of a day.

My kids love making this calendar. It gives us a chance to spend time together doing something that we all enjoy doing. As we make the calendar we talk about past Christmas memories and their hopes for this Christmas. Every year we added other holiday events like school plays and holiday parties we will attend. I hope you have fun making this calendar with your children.

How to Spend Less Money during the Christmas Season

Christmas is the happiest period of the year for a majority of people all over the world. It is a special season that is celebrated from Thanksgiving up to the 25th of December. Besides the religious celebration of this festival, many people give more attention to Christmas in order to make it very special for their children. Many people see to it that their children write letters to Santa. The real reason behind writing these letters is to find out what exactly the children want from Santa Claus.

Nowadays, many people have started ordering letters from Santa Claus by either writing the letters themselves or getting it customized as a reply to the ones written by their children. They also give Christmas gifts along with the letters or give the gifts separately. Children become very happy on receiving these. Many families work on a tight budget. The money spent in the entire month is accounted for. The budget is followed throughout the year but Christmas changes all that.

Everybody wants to spend less money during the Christmas season. Santa gifts are usually those having a theme of Santa Claus. They are sometimes given before Christmas. The gifts could be of any type like craft items, figurines, ornaments and so on. These gifts need not be expensive. If you give children gifts from Santa Claus before Christmas they will be in the spirit of the festival from early on and this spirit will be kept stronger for a long time. These gift items will also affect the adults positively. Some craft kits require the children and parents to work together. They do not cost a lot of money. One does not get such opportunities for bonding with their children nowadays.

Children usually write letters to Santa Claus in Christmas telling him about the gifts they want but are always thrilled when they receive a letter from Santa Claus himself in reply to their letters. You could get personalized letters from Santa Claus from a number of suppliers on the Internet. You will have to conduct research so that you are clear about what service each supplier provides as well as the rates they charge. You will be able to go through their past work so that you get an idea of how experienced they are. You will have to give them the name of your children, their gender, accomplishments, Christmas wishes, and so on so that the letter looks like it has been written especially for your children and the children will be led to believe that Santa Claus has really written the letter. The personal details you provide will be edited in such a way that this will be possible. You would be able to select from a variety of stationery designs for the letter as per your budget.

You could also provide your children with a number of small gifts from Santa Claus which would delight them and also occupy them with something constructive to do. This will ensure that the parents will have the time to prepare for the festival without the children getting in the way. Children could be given gifts that are small and inexpensive and having Santa as the theme. You could give them Santa craft or an activity book revolving around him that requires participation by the children. This will keep Santa Claus uppermost in their minds.

Snowflakes and Mistletoe Add To the Magic of Christmas

When Christmas is round the corner many children start counting the days because they are eagerly anticipating Santa Claus and his gifts for them. This is the time of the year when children have more fun than ever, but for adults it can be extremely hectic. Some advice for making this holiday season less stressful is ordering personalized letters from Santa Claus and also purchasing some pre-Christmas gifts early. This adds to the fun for the children and helps to relieve adults of last minute hassles.

Every year children in the United States, Canada and around the world write letters to Santa Claus so that they can tell him what they expect for Christmas. Normally, they do not expect an answer to their request except for an occasional note that says thank you on a plate that the children have left cookies on for Santa on the eve of Christmas. If you order personalized letters from Santa Claus for the children, a special spark would be added to the season and you would not be able to wipe off the smiles on the faces of your children. You can get these letters from many different suppliers but some are much better than others. Just like any other shopping, comparison shopping proves that some vendors are not concerned with creating a quality product. However, packages from Santa are available that are sure to please you and amaze your children.

You will have to give personal information to the supplier in order to personalize the letters. You have to provide the name, age, gender, as well as other details. All this is edited so that the letter looks like it is addressed to your child specifically by Santa himself. The illusion will be maintained that Santa knows everything about each child. The joy of your child will know no bounds when he thinks that Santa wrote a personal letter to him. Combine the arrival of this unique gift with inexpensive pre-Christmas gifts and your kids will be delighted. The waiting period that leads to Christmas can be made more exciting with the help of activity pads, gift items that are small and craft kits. Some activities of this kind will also give the adults a lot of fun. You could look around for specific craft projects that are designed so that the child and parent work together closely in order to complete it as per the schedule. This would make the countdown to Christmas a fun affair for both. You could personalize the small gifts. A personal touch could be added to the project that is completed with the help of items like ornament craft gifts to hold photographs, personalized ornaments and other items. It will make the project yours as well as your child’s.

You will all cherish the time you have spent together some years later. The period before Christmas can be very hectic but children enjoy this period because of the gifts that they are going to get from Santa Claus. You can make the season merry with the help of a Christmas package from Santa Claus while snowflakes and mistletoe will add to the magic.

Christmas Safety Tips While You Write Personalized Santa Claus Letters For Every Home

In this day and age, Christmas safety is a huge consideration. There are many products on the market that are not safe for little children – the truth is, kids are curious and most things have to be touched and tasted. That of course poses a significant danger. Christmas is a wonderful holiday and the last thing in the world you want to happen is to rush to the hospital because your child swallowed a small Christmas ball or other item. In order to be safe this and every Christmas, here are some tips to get you through the holidays safe and sound.

In general, it is important to practice good safety measures not only on Christmas but throughout the year. As your children stay up late creating their personalized Santa Claus letters, you need to ensure that the front door is locked. It’s easy to get caught up in festivities as you teach your children good letter-writing skills and forget about your security as you write the letters to Santa. For this reason, making safety a habit is advisable not just for Christmas but the whole year through.

1. Child proof your house
Remember that children put small things in their mouth and tend to swallow them. For this reason, don’t leave bowls of peanuts, walnuts or chestnuts lying around where children can easily reach them and put them in their mouth. Nuts with hard shells as well as tiny Christmas décor are choking hazards. Avoid hanging small trimmings on the tree where tiny hands can reach up and grab them. Avoid using glass bowls that you used to use when you were not a parent yet, now that you have children, these will undoubtedly fall and crash to the floor.

2. Fire-proof your house
As a matter of fact, something as seemingly safe as letter to Santa can become a fire hazard if you are not careful. For Christmas lights need to pass safety accreditation. There are many different varieties of Christmas lights you can decorate your tree with. Not all of these Christmas lights come from legitimate companies. In other words, you need to make sure that the Christmas lights you end up purchasing comes from a recommended or a trustworthy manufacturer rather than from a company which is just out to make a quick buck. Many cases of trees getting burned from bad wiring that the Christmas lights are made with can be avoided by purchasing lights made by a well-recommended Christmas light company that has a good reputation. This is especially true if you decide to purchase your lights online through online stores or auctions.

3. Protect your home this Christmas from theft
Any time of the year, some neighborhoods are vulnerable to thefts. Christmas is an emotional time for many people, provoking some to commit attempted burglaries in neighborhood homes. For this reason, you need to identify which parts of your house need more security measures in order to protect your belongings as well as your family. Be sure that the lighted Christmas décor on your lawn has a chain attached to it that bolts to your porch. These days, something as seemingly safe from theft such as Christmas décor are also targets thieves may become attracted to. Check the locks on your door and make sure your house is secure before you sleep. Christmas is a time where people relax and drink more than the usual amounts of alcohol. Thus, you need to be extra alert for doors that have been left unlocked by one family member or guests who stay over in your house who mistakenly leave your front door or back door unlocked.

Planning ahead will help with improving the safety of your home during the holiday season and all year round. Although it may seem bothersome at times the safety of your family is certainly a worthwhile effort.
